Some of you guys must have always wondered how some peeps could bundle up the laces of their boat shoes into a knot without the hassle of tying them up each time they put them on. Well guess no more, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to tie the Eastland Knot.

Step 1. Make a 1″ to 1 1/4″ loop. Bring the end of the lace around the loop.
Step 2. Twist the lace around the loop four to seven times.
Step 3. Slide the end of the lace through the loop.
Step 4. To finish the Eastland Knot, slide rolls toward the end of the lace, then pull tight.
