To celebrate 2008 being a leap year, Puma take inspiration from the frog (The universal symbol for the occasion), and will release the Poison-Dart Frog Clydes. A total of five kicks will be released, you might have seen sample pictures of I-III doing the rounds some time back, the two on show here are IV and V.
One of the selling points is the use of textured materials and vibrant colours to symbolize the rare species of Poison-Dart Frogs from Central America.
According to Puma, the printed side panels are meant to represent a “dizzying” effect, as dizziness and blurred vision are the two most common symptoms suffered once coming into contact with the deadly critters.
So, that answers any questions about what the designers were on when they came up with these killer kicks.
