Originally released in 1972. the Cortez Nylon was the result of Nike Co-founder, Bill Bowerman, pushing his Japanese partners to experiment with nylon material. At the time, running shoes were made from either leather or canvas and the new nylon based kicks offered an unprecedented level of durability and comfort.
