Minimalist Japanese brand Uniqlo has teamed up with video game giant Sega as part of their UT (Unique Tee) Project. The collab features favourites such as Sonic the Hedgehog, zombies from arcade horror-shooter, House of the Dead, as well as our pick of the litter, the Virtua Fighter series.
Released back in 1993 and Produced by Sega’s legendary AM2 division, headed by video game design guru Yu Suzuki, Virtua Fighter was the first 3-D fighting game to hit arcades.
The game is now in it’s 5th incarnation on the PS3 and Xbox 360, featuring ultra-realistic graphics and motion capture.
As you can see, the tees are all about the horribly blocky polygons of the original installment that everyone quickly forget about upon the release of the much improved sequel.
A nice – albeit slightly geeky looking – tribute to a game way ahead of it’s time, check the full range out at the Uniqlo Japan Webstore.
