Much to our surprise/amusement, a handful of very brave Streething members have taken to the notoriously bumpy city streets with brake-less bicycles – resulting in what seems to be the (unofficial) start of the fixed-gear movement in Malaysia.
101 Fixed-Gear written by Squid for Puma is a couple of years old, but still provides those looking to get into fixies an easy-to-read and comprehensive guide.
Almost everything is explained, from assembling a bike, choosing parts, riding techniques, common tricks and general care. For those that don’t have any desire to get into the increasingly popular movement, the introduction provides a good explanation why enthusiasts prefer fixies over more safer and less tasking bicycles.
