THE GOLD STANDARD
Earlier this year, we previewed the upcoming Puma Suedes that pay tribute to African American Track & Field Hall of Famer, Tommie Smith, and the controversial Black Power Salute of the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City that he was responsible for. This set of Clydes focus solely on the athletic achievements of Smith at the games; winning the 200m race in a world record time of 19.83 seconds.
The blue pair is a replica of what Smith wore to the podium, with an added gold sockliner and medal on the heel to siginify the win. The metallic gold pair feature an all-over embossed medal print, whilst both pairs have a special Mexico 1968 insole with stitched details.
Unfortunately, these will not be released in Malaysia. No word yet on a global release date.
