As we continue the reporting of our Nike Beijing trip series. One of the most impressive events and venues was the launch of Chinese Federation Uniforms event held at China’s famed Tai Miao, the Ancestral Temple east of the Forbidden City.

More than 500 invited guests (think brand influencers, celebrities) and media were present to witness Nike President and CEO Mark Parker and 22 Chinese Federations unveiled their uniform collections. Nike worked with Chinese athletes, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and 22 of the 28 sport Federations to complete its most lightweight and innovative performance product while showcasing the unique look of China. The collection ranges from footwear, using lightweight Flywire technology fibers and Lunarlite foam cushioning to Nike Swift performance apparel using recycled polyester.

All guests were hosted at the courtyard of Tai Miao with finger food and free flow of champagne. Most guests were dressed for the occasion especially the European and Japenese. It was like a Beijing Fashion Week. Nothing beats having such grand venue filled trendy and chic crowd.

As the door opened, everyone was invited into the main building of the venue and Tai Miao at the moment has transformed into a red temple to match the China National Team. We were greeted by Kung Fu masters followed by athletes demonstrating the 22 sports from the 22 Federations. Just imagine a front row seat at an Olympic game in Forbidden city.

Trevor Edwards (VP of Global Brand and Category Management of Nike) and Mark Parker (CEO and President of Nike) both gave a short speech to officiate the event and unveiled of the 22 China Federation Uniforms.

Among the many Chinese athletes to showcase the Chinese Federation uniforms, Ying JianLian (wearing no.11) of NBA team Milwaukee Bucks. We can’t help but notice the Chinese National Team basketball shoes for Olympic.
