BOMB IT, a documentary detailing the history of graffiti, takes viewers on a journey through five continents, a cast of international graffiti writers and guerilla footage of them in action. Director John Reiss traces the controversial art form back to prehistoric times, where man used to draw on walls to express themselves; New York city during the 70s, where the art form exploded; and to the present day, where street artists battle to make their mark on the urban landscape as their predecessors once did.
The myriad of artists - which include favourites such as Zephyr, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey and Taki 183 to name but a few - not only provide demonstrations of their work, but interviews that document the varied attitudes and opinions the artists hold regarding certain subjects. Definately worth checking out if you are interested in the culture, or intrigued by the debate between invasion of privacy and freedom of expression.
BOMB IT has already been premiered in America, we do not know if there are plans to bring the film to South East Asia. Stay tuned for more details; in the meantime, head over to the official website to view trailers and further information.
