REPLAY: Oakley Hijinx x Frank Kozik launch @ Leftfoot, The Cathay

The Oakley event, held at Leftfoot’s latest branch at The Cathay, Singapore, effectively killed three birds with one stone. Firstly, it launched the much anticipated Frank Kozik x Oakley Hijinx’; secondly, it was also the celebration party of Leftfoot opening at The Cathay; last but not least, it was Leftfoot founder Anthony Ho’s *cough* 21st *cough* birthday. It was also the first time that we ever witnessed a shop getting totally trashed just hours after officialy opening, and partying inside a shopping mall until 2am was quite a novelty in itself.

Yeah, you just know when Leftfoot drops an event that the reaction will be crazy. Although chilled drinks were stacked to the roof, the massive crowd in attendance made for an extremely stuffy environment. Which resulted in many popping outside sporadically to cool down, and whilst many left, people just kept coming in non-stop to either pay respects or see what all the commotion was about.

Oakley decked the store out in Kozik’s famed artworks, and even went as far as offering free customized t-shirts that were freshly silk screened on the spot - three cheers for sweatshop labour! However, the stars of the show were undeniably the Frogskins designed by local artists and personalities, such as Killer Gerbil, Ben Yeo, Mark Ong aka SBTG, and DJ Koflow. Guests were allowed to touch and feel, and didn’t hesitate in trying them on. A nice touch, since most of the times such items are considered to be “exhibits”.

To round the night off, champagne and cake were brought out for Anthony, and from then on it would be fair to say that mostly everyone has a hazy memory. Hopefully the pictures will refresh some memories. Again, congrats to the whole Leftfoot crew!
