If you haven’t been following the Streething x Canon Selphy Contest thread in the forums, then here’s a little recap for you; Streething have teamed up with the good folks over at Canon to give you the chance to win some cool Selphy portable printers and IXUS digital cameras.
To enter, you will first need to think of a creative way to use the Canon Selphy ES210 printer. If you’re stuck for ideas, check out some examples here, where we used the little wonder to keep our office more organized, make a sample lookbook, and even out to party.
To participate, head over to Sole What?, where some Canon Selphy ES210s are stationed from 13th - 25th July 2008, print out your prize winning idea’s and document the process in photos, then send the pictures, idea description and your personal details to contest@streething.com before 29th July 2008.
* The only catch being that you have to pay for your own consumables (paper and stickers), that are available for a special discounted price, ranging from RM29 - RM76.

Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 The following terms and conditions apply for “101 ways of using a Selphy ES20” online contest (the “Contest”) and by submitting an entry into this Contest, contestants warrant that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by them.
2. Organizer
2.1 The organizer is Streething.com, on behalf of Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd of Block D, Peremba Square, Saujana Resort, Section U2, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangor (the “Organizer”).
3. Contest Period
3.1 The Contest will run from 13 July 2008 to 29 July 2008 (the “Contest Period”) or any period as may be notified by the Organizer.
3.2 The Organizer may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the Contest Period at any time without any prior notice (“the Extended Period”). Unless an Extended Period is announced, any entries received after 11.59pm on 29 July 2008 (due to any reason howsoever and/or whatsoever arising) shall be disqualified. Any participation in the Contest during the Extended Period (if any) shall be governed by these terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) which shall remain in full force and effect.
4. Eligibility
4.1 The Contest is open to registered Streething Forum members in Malaysia only (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Contestants”).
4.2 Employees and immediate family members of the Organizer, their advertising agencies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies and suppliers are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
4.3 The Contestants must be citizens or permanent residents of Malaysia above the age of SIXTEEN (16) years with a valid National Registration Identification Card (“NRIC”) number at the time of participation of the Contest.
5. Contest Mechanics
5.1 To enter the Contest, simply think of the most creative ways of using a Selphy ES20 and head over to Sole What @ the Gardens on 13 July 2008 to 25 July 2008.
5.2 Selphy ES20 compact photo printers will be setup at the venue for Contestants to use.
5.3 All creative ideas must be submitted via photo, together with NAME, NRIC, Contact Number, Address, Streething Nick and a brief description of your idea, then email to contest@streething.com by 11:59PM, 29 July 2008
5.4 Contestants may send as many entries as they wish during the Contest Period or the Extended Period, if applicable.
5.5 Contestants must purchase consumables (photo paper that comes with ink cartridge) at Sole What from 13 July 2008 to 25 July 2008 to produce their creative ideas.
5.6 The consumables are offered at specially discounted price listed below, solely for this Contest only:

6. Contest Entries
6.1 The Contestant must ensure that their Contest entries are complete and accurate. Incomplete, illegible or late entries shall be disqualified.
6.2 The Organizer reserves the right to reject any registration and/or entry at its sole and absolute discretion without having to assign any reasons whatsoever.
6.3 The Contestant can send in as many Contest entries as they wish.
6.4 The five (5) winners at the end of the Contest need to submit their entries to the Organizer, at their own expense and it will not be returned to the winners.
6.5 All chosen entries must not exceed the measurement of 1meter (height) x 1meter (width) x 1meter (depth) to the Organizer.
7. Judging
7.1 All entries submitted will be shortlisted by Canon and Streething judges.
7.2 Fifty (50) shortlisted entries will then be posted on Streething Forum whereby 50% of the votes will be done through polling on the forum and another 50% will be determined by Canon and Streething judges.
7.3 The Judge’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence shall be entertained.
8. Notification of Contest winners
8.1 Contest winners will be notified by telephone call to his/ her mobile phone for which the contact number shall be the number used by the Contestant for submission. The Organizer reserves the right to use any other method or medium it deems fit at its sole and absolute discretion for the purpose of announcing the Contest winners.
8.2 Upon request, Contest winners will be required to give their photocopy of NRIC and contact details deemed necessary and relevant by the Organizer at its discretion within forty eight (48) hours upon receiving the request/notification from the Organizer.
8.3 Proof of mailing, faxing, or delivering (in any manner whatsoever) any details to the Organizer does not denote proof that the Organizer has received such details.
8.4 The Organizer reserves the right to forfeit prizes for any Contest winner who does not provide the required details upon receiving the request/notification.
9. Prizes
9.1 Top three (3) winners will get a Canon IXUS 80 IS Digital Camera + Selphy CP 770 compact photo printer each while two (2) consolation winners will get a PowerShot A470 Digital Camera each.
9.2 The Organizer reserves the right to change the prizes without any prior
notification.
9.3 The Contest winners shall be responsible for all costs in connections with perfecting his/her prize, including but not limited to legal cost, stamp duties, registration and transfer fees, taxes, insurance, spending money and related expenses (such as meals or personal expenses, upgrades etc.) or fees.
9.4 Contest winners shall be entitled to one (1) prize only.
9.5 Prizes not claimed within one month upon request/notification shall be forfeited. Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable in any other form for whatever reason. Contest winners are solely responsible for the collection of their prize(s). The Organizer and its agents, sponsors and representatives shall have no liability to the Contest winners in any respect whatsoever.
9.6 The Organizer reserves the right to request written proof of residency and of the age of any Contest winner before the prize is collected.
9.7 The Organizer makes no warranties or representations whatsoever with respect to the prize and shall not be responsible nor liable for any problems and/or damage there to or arising there from.
9.8 Prizes must be claimed in person unless advise otherwise. Identification which includes a photograph will be required (examples include identification card/drivers license/passport which displays a photograph of the Contest winner).
9.9 In special situations, and subject to the absolute discretion of the Organizer, a Contest winner may nominate a designated representative to collect the prize. The representative will be required to present written authorization from the Contest winner and identification which includes a photograph for both the Contest winner and their representative.
9.10 In the event that a Contest winner chooses not to accept a prize, they forfeit any and all claims to that prize, which will be dealt with according to the absolute discretion of the Organizer.
9.11 All prizes are accepted entirely at the risk of the Contest winner, and the Organizer excludes all warranties in connection with any prize to the extent permitted by law. Contest winners shall comply with the terms and conditions of the prize.

10. Prize Giving Ceremony
10.1 In the event the Organizer has a prize giving ceremony, the Contest winner(s) are required to attend at his/her own cost and expense to collect the prize. In the event the Contest winner is not able to attend the prize giving ceremony, the Contest winner must nominate a representative to be present at the prize giving ceremony to accept the prize on his/her behalf.
11. Adherence to Contest Terms & Conditions
11.1 In addition to these Terms and Conditions, instructions and methods of participating in the Contest, as set out on http://www.streething.com/forum or otherwise, shall also bind all Contestants and their participation in the Contest.
11.2 In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any terms contained in any promotional material for this Contest, the terms contained herein shall apply.
11.3 Failure to comply with the rules, regulations, instructions or methods will result in the Contestants being disqualified.
11.4 By participating in this Contest, the Contestant is taken to have read and agreed to the terms and conditions herein and shall adhere to all and/or any decisions made by the Organizer.
12. Variation to the Terms & Conditions
12.1 The Organizer reserves the right to change, amend, delete or add to these Contest Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time and the Contestants shall be bound to such changes.
13. Liability
13.1 The Organizer nor the venue (Sole What @ the Gardens) will not be responsible or liable for:
13.1.1 Any problem, damage or loss of whatsoever nature to any Contestant, or their authorized representatives resulting from their participation in the Contest.
13.1.2 Any error (including error in notification of Contest winners), omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorized access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control.
13.2 The Contest is provided on an “as is where is available” basis. The Organizer will not be responsible and will not be liable if any entry is lost, late or undelivered due to any reason other than the sole negligence of the Organizer. Proof of delivery of entries is not proof that the entries were duly received.
13.3 These terms and conditions are governed by Malaysian law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian Courts. The Judges have the rights to amend the Terms and Conditions at any point.
13.4 The Organizer, its partners and its sponsors shall not be held responsible for any late, lost, incomplete or misdirected entries, computer system, phone line, electronic equipment, computer hardware, software and program malfunctions or other errors, failures or delays in computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature or for problems in sending email entries or for any other technical problems related to email entries.
13.5 By participating in the Contest, Contestants shall hereby grant to the Organizer, its affiliates, and/or its agents a non-exclusive rights to publish, promote, reproduce, distribute, and publicly display the submitted entries in any and all media as the Organizer, its affiliates and/or agents see fit for any reason, to identify respective Contestants as the author of the submission and to authorize others to do any of the above without any obligation to notify or further compensate the Contestants.
13.6 All Contestants represent and warrant to the Organizer that they are the sole and exclusive owner of the entries or Contestants have all right and authority to grant the rights in the entries to the Organizer, its affiliates and/or its agents.
13.7 All Contestants/winners in this Contest agree to have their names and details used for promotional purposes at the Organizer’s sole discretion.
13.8 Contestants undertake to indemnify and keep the Organizer, its affiliates and agents harmless and indemnified against any loss, damage, claims, costs and expenses which may be incurred by any or each of them due to breach of any of these terms and conditions by the Contestants and, or arising from the participation of the Contestants in this Contest, including those arising from any 3rd party intellectual property infringement claims. In the event of any dispute arising from this Contest or relating to the interpretation of these terms and conditions, the decision of the Organizer on all matters pertaining to the Contest shall be final and binding on all parties.
14. Disqualification
14.1 The Organizer reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that it determines to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, to be acting in breach or potential breach of these Contest Terms and Conditions and/or the Organizer’s Website Terms of Use and Notices. No correspondence shall be entertained.
15. Suspension
15.1 The Organizer further reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend or delay the Contest in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
