adidas Flavours of the World campaign will start this month by launching a series of sneakers, jackets and accessories dedicated to the various flavours being used around the world. Cooked up with luxurious materials and dished out in limited portions, the flavours models should take away any sneaker fans’ senses.

July : Flavours of The World Lavender Edition

July’s flavour is Lavender, the plant which transforms vast expanses of France’s southern countryside into a picturesque purple landscape when it’s ready for harvesting.. The plant does not only look pretty but it is being used for perfumes, medicine and kitchen for more than 2500 years. adidas Original pays tribute to this unique plant with two classic models - Super Skate and Gazelle

July’s flavour is lavender, the plant which transforms vast expanses of France’s southern countryside into a picturesque purple landscape when it’s ready for harvesting. The herb’s usage has been documented for over 2,500 years in perfume, cooking, bathing, mummification and even for France’s charles VI, pillows. According to the medieval nun Hildegard of Bingen, the herb can, surprisingly, cure migraines when mixed with vodka, gin or brandy.

adidas Super Skate - RM369.00

adidas Super Skate was introduced in 1989 and was developed to fit the extreme conditions of this sport. The side parts and toe tips are made of various leathers to protect the foot from injuries.

The upper side and tongue are made of light violet suede with a stamped Super Skate logo and the lavender motive. The heel cap with the logo is designed equally. Laces are light violet and brown. Inside material and side parts are made of light violet textile in polo shirt style. Stripes are appliqued and made of suede in the same colour. The nostalgic “Flavours of the World” writing is lasered on the last stripe. Ankle area, heel, lacing and toe tip are made of olive brown vintage leather. The outer side shows a black writing of the plant’s description in Latin. The massive sole is pastel violet.

This ultimum classic was launched in 1968 for athletics and impresses like the animal with elegance and speed. The simple styling, the flat sole and the streamline shape were popular in the British B-Boying scene.

This retro shape is made of dark brown leather with light violet contrast sewings and details. The mid sole is black, the sole is violet. The nostalgic “Flavours of the World” is lasered into the last stripe. There is a golden print on the side part that shows the description in Latin and the shape of the lavender plant. Laces are brown/ violet as well as the inside material. Really impressive comes the tongue of this supreme sneaker. It is made of light violet lacquer material and is printed with a large photo of lavender.
