We recently gave you an in-depth look at Kazuki’s Spring/Summer ‘09 line for the much vaunted adidas Originals By Originals range, now we take a peek at Jeremy Scott’s fabulously quirky offerings. As expected, Scott doesn’t take any prisoners whilst reinterpreting adidas classics in his distinct flamboyant style; sportswear that was designed with the familiar “form follows function” ethos is turned on it’s head as we see kicks sprouting additional appendages and apparel being doused in big shiny sequins. A complete opposite of the Kazuki line that celebrates casual design and technical functionality.
It’s difficult to put a finger on standout piece from the collection, as everything is so loud that pretty much everything doesn’t look out of place when pictured together. For example, whilst the Leopard Hoodie – with it’s additional limbs, claws, tail and head – might raise a few eyebrows as a standalone release, for the ObyO line it’s sharing shelf space with kicks such as the oversized-Trefoil sporting JS Logo and clothes like the ringmaster-esque Hooded Tux. Statement pieces galore indeed – as with most of Scott’s stuff, only the bold need apply.
