After working with the likes of Yohji Yamamato, Jeremy Scott, Kazuki Kuraishi, Alyasha Owerka Moore, James Bond and numerous top-tier retailers from across the globe, adidas Originals will be going where no sportswear brand has gone before and will be producing an entire collection based around the Star Wars franchise.

The collection is inspired by the various crafts and characters from the movies, which will be featured on some of the most popular adidas silhouettes. It consists of 20 apparel , 11 footwear pieces and some accessories, no pictures are available now but do stay tuned for further updates.

The adidas Originals Star Wars collection Spring/Summer 2010 will be available at select adidas Originals stockists worldwide from January 2010.

For adidas’ second season of Originals By Originals, Kazuki Kuraishi and Jeremy Scott return for another round of unique designs, whilst American streetwear brand Undefeated co-founder James Bond collaborates with football superstar David Beckham on a new collection.

Today, we’re taking a closer look at the upcoming apparel for the Kazuki line, which builds upon the current season’s focus on technical-yet-wearable streetwear. Japanese label Neighborhood also have a hand in the design, so their familiar skull ‘n’ crossbones logo - which has been given a trefoil-ized makeover - is featured on many of the products.

Part of the “60 Years of Soles and Stripes” campaign, adidas’ classic Americana basketball sneaker is available now in one of it’s original colourways. Leather, mesh and an off-white suede toebox combined with simple colours - it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen a decent Americana release, so fans of the classic silhouette better snap some up ASAP.

Limited Edt Vault have just received a fresh delivery of adidas’ top tier Consortium range of kicks. Firstly, the ZX700Y(pictured above) is related to last year’s AZX series of running kicks, the letter Y represents “You”, and  is the winning design for the open competition held during the series’ launch. Besides the famous European landmarks printed across the white premium leather, the pair also sports hidden reflective toe box details.

Next up is this year’s big Consortium campaign - the 3 WAY series. This drop is from Group 2 of select retailers/brands and features collaborative designs from Goodfoot, Undefeated, DQM and Huf on a Superstar 80s and Nizza Hi. The Superstar is constructed out of blue mesh, whilst the Nizza Hi is made up of soft and comfy grey cotton fabric. Both pairs feature the logos of all participating stores on the tongue, sockliner and on the laces.

We’re well on our way into the 21st century, but it seems that as far as sneakers are concerned, the trend seems to still lie in stuff created and designed in the 70s/80s. Maybe it’s something about the asthetics being more simple and lines being more smoother, but one of main drawbacks to this throwback to simpler times is a lot of the technology doesn’t hold up, which doesn’t bold well for today’s extreme lifestyles.

Introducing the Ciero Low, an adidas classic retouched by non other than one of skateboarding’s legends - Mark Gonzales. The distinctive features are the padded heel counter, insoles and nose-piece, whilst the mid-soles have been left alone to utilize the flatness for board feel. Check out these two solid colourways.

adidas isn’t running short on boat shoes, but that doesn’t mean that they’re going to stop producing new stuff. Here we have the Summer Deck, constructed out of lightweight materials and looking rather smart in this trio of simple colourways - more nice options for y’all in the big sea of boat shoe designs.

This year’s been a good one for terrace shoe fans, but the game’s far from over as adidas are releasing more classic models, with Franz Beckenbauer’s signature kicks from 1982 now being released in a trio of tired and trusted colourways. Our pick of the bunch would be the yellow/blacks - the combiantion of suede, leather, contrast colours and off-white sole just really does it for us.

More boats from adidas, with this model in particular fusing elements of classic tennis sneaker and deck shoe design. Both types of shoes are known for their understated aesthetics and classic style, so the result of the gene splicing is a pair of classy looking kicks perfect for the more sunnier days. Just make sure not to get the crispy white canvas scuffed, otherwise people will point and stare at you as if you were a hobo of sorts - and to be fair, if you’re the kind that goes about rocking filth encrusted deck shoes, then such a fate is only fitting …
