Just in at selected adidas Originals stockists in Malaysia are these ZX 700 runners. They feature a crack-pattern print, much like the ZX 700 released last month, towards the back of the shoes. These joints don’t go as crazy with the pattern and feature a more generous serving of the ever-so-comfortable mesh material.

BETWEEN THE LINES

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Normally, when people do white camouflage, they usually incorporate several shades of white, grey and black into the design mix. However, these new Gazelle 2 camo’s from adidas use embossed etchings to outline the camouflage pattern on all-white uppers. The result is a clean pair of kicks with subtle details only revealed upon closer inspection.

STEP ON THE CRACK

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Not so long ago in South East Asia, sneakerheads were absolutely pleading with adidas to bring in more of the classic ZX running range that our global counterparts have been breaking necks with for so long. Last year, adidas finally heeded our prayers and started releasing various models from the series.

The saga continues with this pair of ZX 700, featuring an embossed “cracked” pattern on the uppers. For those that prefer the simplicity and comfort of the originals over the recent crazy-designs, keep an eye out as adidas has more than a few surprises in-store for you later this year.

GO GREEN

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

It seems as if almost every fashion company now wants to convince us to turn over a new leaf and start caring about the environment whilst looking good at the same time. Sometimes it just reminds of us charity products, how much actually gets channeled back to the actual cause after everything is said and done? Where and how are these “eco-friendly” goods being manufactured?

Fortunately, as far as the footwear industry is concerned, the concept has at least given rise to interesting ideas for functional and aesthetically pleasing sneakers. recently, adidas announced the launch of their Grün line of kicks and apparel that utilize natural materials as well as recycled parts.

The first model to be launched in Malaysia from the Grün range is the classic ZX 500 runner. The uppers are constructed from recycled PET and synthetic leather with a recycled backing. The midsoles contain recycled EVA whilst the outsoles contain recycled rubber. Even the packaging is made from recycled materials.

Technical details aside, they’re a quality pair of kicks that are very well made and come in a killer colourway. They may not save the world overnight, but at least they’re a step in the right direction.
