Asian Hip Hop Festival@ Bangkok Oct 11th 2008
Over the last weekend, Bangkok played host to the first Asian Hip Hop Festival, which featured some of the top names from the the region such as Thaitanium (Thailand), Beatmathics (Philippines), Joe Flizzow (Malaysia) and of course lyrical acclaimed superstar- NAS. This historic event that is the brain-child of Thaitanium. As the pioneers of hip hop and urban music in Thailand, Thaitanium have seen the popularity of hip hop reach epic proportions and wish to bring to Thailand the best from the respective countries represented in this event.

We were there to witnessed whooping 6 hours of non-stop performance by the regional elite. Among them, Beatmathics from Philiphine really brought the energy all the way to Bangkok and the crowd was bouncing to every beat. You can view their youtube HERE.

Aside from that, Thaitanium didn’t let their home crowd down after their last concert around two years back. They performed every hit song and ended their set with hit Ta Leung. Some said their set was probably the best of the night! We could obviously tell from the crowd in Impact Center was just pumping!

Due to the all stars line up of performers, NAS finally came on stage around 12 midnight. He started with some hit singles from his 2006’s album Hip Hop Is Dead and took the crowd back to the mid 90s (Illmatic) with hit singles like If I Ruled The World. Too bad some of the audience were worn out from partying, dancing (and drinking) for almost 5 hours and started leaving the arena.
We were dead tired as well at the end of the night. Our biggest regrets were not bringing a foldable chair and a good video camera to capture the event.
Special Thanks to Thaitanium Entertainment and Khun Air
