Last Friday, KL’s newest sneaker store - the aptly named Sneakers - held a straight up booze-fueled party for their one-night only Sneakers For College promo that saw the store slashing prices for anyone that held a student card. The massive amount of beer was guzzled down by revelers and moochers of varying degrees before we even got there - lucky the guys had a backup supply on standby for us to all get wasted on.

Apart from scaring off any kids coming in to actually buy stuff, the event also saw local customizer Oneye aka Streething forum member Spoonman hold his first ever solo art exhibition. Also, the K-Swiss x Atmos collabs were launched, but it seems that it was met with a somewhat lackluster reaction, pity as the high tops bear a passing resemblance to certain Troops designs.

Juice Singapore is celebrating it’s 10th birthday by inviting Berlin electro-rockers The Whitest Boy Alive to perform at Zouk Singapore. They also got 10 of their creative buddies, which include Phunk Studio, The Analog Girl and Ivanho Harlim, to produce giant sized magazine covers that will be on show for all to see. If you’re wondering what’s up with the homemade visual, well we kind of lost the flyer they sent us, so we knocked something up by using some old material that has a vague relevance to the mag. Anyhow, congrats to the Juice Singapore crew for reaching a decade old!

Congrats to local skater Riyaz on the launch of his new skate wheel brand, Glam Wheel, and what better way to kick start your brand than an unauthorized best trick contest? Yes, it was at Stadium Melawati, but forget about announcers, floodlights and rows upon rows of fans - as the contest was held out back at the loading bay.

Just like that, and the weekend’s over! Most of us are still buzzing from last Saturday night, which saw the return of the Heineken Green Room series at Zouk KL. And what a return it was, bringing together Australian indie/electro rockers Van She, Japanese DJ act Dexpistols, and Malaysia’s own Lapsap for a night of mayhem on the dancefloor. Looking forward to the next bout of green room, but in the meantime let’s take a recap at Saturday’s antics.
