Japanese denim label Evisu has re-launched itself, paying homage to the often overlooked roots that made them one of the most sought after denim brands of the last twenty years. Formerly known as Evis (named after the Japanese prosperity god) which then turns to Evisu from the Japanese tongue, the label has released a collection of jeans which focus on the quality, craftsmanship and authenticity of Evisu’s original denim by founder, Hidehiko Yamane.
The new series comprises of three different designs for both men and women and will be released in the various cuts with price ranging from USD150 for the Evisu Genes to USD700 for the replica quality Private Stocks. The re-launch also comes with the Evisu brand bible, the Tateoti book that contains archive images of the evolving jeans from raw to worn-out state, as well as a replica of an old pair owned by a painter which was found in a flea market by Scott Morrison of Earnest Sewn.
