The first adidas SLVR store in South East Asia is officially opened in Bangkok over the last week. It opens on the same level with their current adidas Originals store in Siam Center. The adidas SLVR (reads Silver) which is a PURE fashion label within the adidas Sport Style Division which house adidas Originals and Y3. The label’s key message is ‘Simply Perfect’. It reflects the new label’s connection to adidas as well as the values of all SLVR products.
The first ever SLVR collection consists of strong basic pieces in simple black and white with accents provided in maroon, orange and shades of blue. The launch collection includes men’s & women’s apparel, footwear and accessories. One of the key products in the collection is ‘7 Piece Shoe’, which consists of a 6 piece upper stitched to a 1 piece outsole; whereas most sneakers are made of at least 25 individual pieces that are glued together. It’s an perfect example of their design ethos - keeping it simple yet sophisticated.
We also took notice of the current SLVR products are made by environmental friendly material such as sustainable organic cotton, soybean fabric, water resistant nylon and coated natural canvas in comfortable and light weight executions, which is perfect for humid weather in this region. This is a big step for adidas to advance further into the fashion world after launching their luxury label Y3.

Located at the fringe of Makati, Bunker is the Manila city’s friendliest and coolest sneaker store. Due to lack of quality sneaker releases and stockists for good apparel brands, Bunker has been started to play a leading role in the ever-hungry Philippine sneakers scene. It is the official stockists of Vans, Nike SB, Nike and Royalfam, they also have some of the hard-to-find Supreme drops thanks to their tight hookups around the world. Be sure to hit the store when you are in Manila and do not be shy to ask the boys to show you a good time.
Nike Singapore has just opened up their Flagship Store in the busy Orchard Road shopping district. The store spans over two floors, with the first playing home to the Nike Running Club as well as a dedicated showcase area for the latest campaigns, whilst the second offers Nike Sportwear and performance goods along with a version of NIKEiD Studio.
The Nike Running Club is the company’s first step into offering a more complete experience to runners, as specially trained consultants will be at hand to provide expert advice on the most suitable products to improve performance. Moving upstairs, the NikeiD Studio doesn’t offer the ability to create custom kicks, offering instead a T-shirt customizing service where people can get their own personalized Nike tee made within 40 minutes.
Head over to the store to check out the exclusives they have in, with a few being from the pinnacle collection of Nike Sportswear which has so far been available only at NSW stores in New York and Tokyo.

Head over to Showroom to check out the new X-Large Fall ‘08 tees they got in, and as usual the designs continue with the monkey business theme and doesn’t really take anything too seriously. Photo-print tee fans will want to take a look at the Governer Arnold Schwarzenegger piece - living it extra large indeed!

Following the launch of first stand-alone retail location of New York City, we are honoured to be given an opportunity to visit the Japan’s NSW Store located at Cat Street, Harajuku Tokyo. This is the first Asian stand alone NSW store which offers exclusive products, an elevated retail experience, and a new “NIKEid Studio” service, which allows consumers to purchase limited release footwear by Nike’s creative partners.
NSW, a pinnacle apparel collection within the Nike Sportswear line, is the apex of what Nike Sportswear represents. The collection is steeped in Nike’s sports heritage and remixed with cutting edge engineering, craftsmanship, and modern design. The complete Nike Sportswear NSW collection, which includes exclusive seasonal Tokyo initiated and designed products, is available at Japan’s NSW Store. This is the only place in Asia where you can get the entire NSW collection.
A new and innovative interpretation of the existing NIKEiD Studio experience, The “NIKEiD Studio” will provide consumer access to exclusive footwear designed by Nike’s long-term creative partners. This “NIKEiD Studio” project will enable these creative partners to share their designs directly with the consumer. The “NIKEiD Studio” will release a limited run of released styles starting in Holiday season.

+9 is a fashion show that brings together nine individual Singaporean and Indonesian designers to ride against the grain and have their collective voices heard. Laughing in the face of the age old saying “too many cooks spoil the broth”, the Spring/Summer ‘09 show draws upon the diverse pool of labels to showcase a variety of looks and styles. After a fourth month renovation period, Berlin based streetwear boutique OVERKILL finally opened it’s doors for business again. The guys have been in the business for five years already and felt a need to move with the times, check the above video for a look into the new-look store as well as the re-opening party.
