NEWS: The Beatles “Can’t Buy Me Love” 1000% Kubricks

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Medicom Toy will soon be releasing the much anticipated Beatles “Can’t Buy Me Love” 1000% Kubricks that were first seen earlier this year. The set is based upon the fab four’s animated television series from the 60s, with the title theme coming from their No.1 hit of the same name. These will no doubt be of interest to those that snapped up the much smaller 4″ versions quite some time ago. Needless to say, but quantities of these big-little guys are limited.

Action City Malaysia and Singapore will be getting them in, so hit them up for pre-order details.

Since 2003, San Francisco-based STRANGEco has been a distributor of AMOS Toys in the North American market, and this new series of mini-figures marks the company’s first foray into producing James Jarvis’ designs. The King Ken character was originally released back in 2003 as a 12 inch vinyl figure, and became an instant hit with fans and has since seen numerous colour variants.

The new series takes King Ken down to four inches and throws him into the ubiquitous “mystery box” packaging. Fans can expect the five colourways pictured above, as well as a special surprise variant that will have collectors tearing through multiple packs. The King Ken Series 1 will be available at selected stockists worldwide this November.
