REPLAY: Surrender re-opening

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Recently, after completing a massive makeover, Surrender finally reopened their doors for business. Apart from the neon signs, the most obvious difference to everyone that has frequented Surrender at the current Devonshire Road location, will be that stablemates Ambush have shifted downstairs whilst Surrender is now fully occupying the upper floor.

Aesthetics aside, another notable difference would be the inclusion of more lifestyle products, such as the various CD’s personally selected by the Surrender crew, that are up for sale in the new area. Apart from the impending arrival of WTAPS, the selection of brands remain the same, as the guys will be concentrating on offering a fuller range of products. Expect to see some of the most exclusive items from Head Porter, Neighborhood, Clot, Visvim, Dita Legends, Hysteric Glamour and of course, Surrender’s own stuff.

Stay tuned for future releases from Surrender, such as the much anticipated Bearbrick and collaboration tees. Also, do regularly check out our dropzone for new items arriving in at the store. In the meantime, take a look at the pics of the new store, as well as the re-opening party at Zouk Singapore, featuring Masatoshi Uemura on the decks.

Surrender, 119 Devonshire Road, Singapore 239881; T +65 7332 130.

PRIME CUTS: Zig Zag, Thailand

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

For this edition of Prime Cuts we head over to the Land of Smiles, Thailand, for a series of in-store reports. First up is Zig Zag, located in the trendy Siam Square area of Bangkok, the store is full of quirky designs. We asked the guys to highlight some of their favourite items, and the end result is a very European affair, as all the products chosen are Dutch-designed. First choice are the Radar toys from grafitti artist Delta (Pictured above), a set of really cool “fu-manchu” looking robots. Next, the guys picked out two graphic print tees also from Delta, as well as two from Rockwell, the brand by Dutch illustrator Parra. Stay tuned for more Prime Cuts from Bangkok.
