This April 08, adidas will launch the Grün line of environmentally friendly sneakers. Various recycled and natural materials have been used to create models such as the Gazelle OP, Superstar 1, Honey Slipper, Forum Mid, ZX 500 and Marathon Vintage.

For example, the ZX 500 has uppers crafted from recycled PET and synthetic leather, whilst the Forum Mid features chromium-free leather, cotton and jute. Even the final packaging of the kicks will be made from environmentally friendly material.

Can wearing a pair of Grün’s save the environment? Most probably not, but at least it’s a step in the right direction.

Remember the famous backdoor snap shots of aNYthing when A-Ron was still in charged? He took snap shots of designers to artists to friends from the neighbourhood possing at the back of his store. We used to look forward to see who was up next at the backdoor. Now this collection of snap shots has been published as the Back Door Book, released by WoW and Off Bowery (A-Ron’s current production).

To mark his royal airness’ last ever pair of numbered J’s, Limited Edt (LE) has put together the largest collection of Air Jordan kicks to ever be exhibited in Singapore. From this Sunday (Feb 23, 08), over 200 pairs of retros, vintage and rare air will be on show to the general public at their Queensway branch. However, at 7pm today there will be an exclusive invite-only preview for members of the LE Jordan Club and friends. Peeps attending the event will also be treated to a screening of a video tribute to Michael Jordan, specially made by LE. Also, the only 9 pairs of Jordan 23 All-Star’s allocated to Singapore will be balloted , whilst the Stealth’s will be on sale and there will be 23 prizes to be given away in a lucky draw. Unfortunately, the Jordan 23 Titanium’s are for display only.

Singaporean artist PhuEk (Or Phu! for short) created this art piece for us for the All in the Family event. Phu! is famed for his talent of turning vinyl into three-dimensional art and his works have been been exhibited all over the world. The Streething plaque is similar to the one he did for Sole Obsession and is made from recycled materials. If you don’t know him yet, make sure to check out his website for a look into his awesome creations.

For spring/summer 08, adidas will be dropping a luxury collection of kicks that feature premium materials and classy looking colourways. The Tobacco will be the first to drop in March, followed in May by the release of the Campus Vintage, Italia 1960 and Rod Laver Vintage. Each sneaker brings a subtle touch of class to the floor, for example, the Tobacco uses laser treated crackled leather, whilst the Campus Vintage is particularly interesting due to the woven uppers that use a combination of suede and patent leather.

Expecting to release in Neighborhood stockists worldwide this February, the Delta Series is inspired by Missisipi Delta Blues. This collection has some collaborations with guitar makers C.F.
