Coming soon to stores near you is the Asia Pacific exclusive New Balance 576 China Mask pack; part of the 576 20th anniversary celebrations, the pack takes inspiration from the colourful makeup worn by performers of the Chinese opera.
Much like the performers, all three kicks feature distinct characteristics, such as: the usage of embossed graphics on the leather of the reds; detailed patterns on the suede of the oranges; whilst the greens stay simple with less details and an almost singular colour scheme.
Unfortunately for avid Chinese opera fans, these don’t come with a makeup kit and costume for you to complete the outfit; however, we know that New Balance has a trick or two up their sleeves that may ease your disappointment, so keep checking Streething daily for more information.
The New Balance 576 China Mask pack will be available at selected stockists around South East Asia around August 2008.

Each helmet is equipped with a powerful microprocessor, these microchips are connected to each other while being all connected to a central computer. Throughout the exhibition, these Darth Vaders will attempt to recompose this song of darkness by working through a system of analysis and synthetic production based on a huge music library that consists of everything from punk to techno to Faure’s Requiem. This is an Artistic Artificial Intelligence on a whole new level.

Boneyards is a collaborative effort between Stussy and Neighborhood, two of the world’s leading streetwear brands; although both companies have worked together numerous times in the past, Boneyards is a project, rather than a one-off piece. Not much is known as of yet, but a website has been launched, with nothing more but the impending release date for the project.
As of now, pretty much everyone in the online streetwear community has seen the much talked about Boneyard Nike Blazers and Terminators; other than that, we will have to wait and see what the project has in store for us.
Keep checking www.bnyds.com for more updates.

“West End Girls Meet East Side Boys” is a controversial photo exhibition featuring photos of half naked Xi Men Ting girls (West side) posing with toys and kicks captured by Maco Hsu (MCP). Yes, it sounds likes an otaku’s dream come true. They have compiled these hot and steamy photos into limited quantity of photo book to be given away during the exhibition held at Leftfoot Gallery in Taipei recently. We’ve managed to get a copy of them thanks to the good people of Leftfoot. Here are some of our favourite pics!!

Last Wednesday, Maison played host to the second edition of Bang-Mi, their new monthly electro/mash/indie-night, organized by Vice Modern Disco, that brings together the region’s finest to rock KL; this installment saw Clash The Disko Kids’ (Singapore) headlining.
The night was a wee bit quieter in comparison to last month’s launch party, maybe the petrol price spike and massive traffic jams on the way somewhat dampened peoples party mood - where’s AraByrd when you need her?
Oh well, pictures after the jump.

Currently on show at the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur Gallery is Work: 1991-1995, a photography exhibition by Hashiguchi George that documents the attitude to employment within Japanese society, as to provide a better understanding on the country and its people.
The pictures were originally published in GAT’N, a commercial employment magazine, between 1991-1995; Hashiguchi delved into the observation of people of various ages, doing the exact same jobs, and how they coped with it. He also explores the loss of regional distinction in small areas/villages, as the locales sought employment all over Japan.
Work: 1991-1995 will be exhibited until 28th June 2008 at JFKL Gallery, Suite 30.01, Level 30, Menara Citibank, 165, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur (+603 2161 2104).

Inspired by New England’s famous lobster feast and heritage, Nike SB has worked with Boston premier sneaker/skate boutique Concepts to release a pair of Nike SB “Lobster”. This lobsters have managed to swim all the way to our shore but they DO NOT come with the special “lobster cage” boxes which were done only for the first 50 pairs sold in Concepts store. The box which stated “Concepts Fishing Company” contained a lobster claw rubber band, a tee shirt, a condiment box (which includes lobster shell cracker, fork, bib, an extra set of laces, and wet nap) and a poster, all put into a traditional paper bag used by typical, New England lobster retailers. Aren’t we are suckers for special packaging!!?
Nike SB “Lobster” will soon be available at Limited Edt.2 (Singapore), Preduce (Bangkok, Thailand) and Showroom (KL, Malaysia).
