South East Asia may not be getting the highly desirable adidas mi Originals service anytime soon, but we were recently offered the chance to create our own kicks with the performance orientated mi adidas shoe customizing service, and found out there is plenty on offer. The simple service takes around half an hour from start to finish, and can lead to some rather interesting creations. We give you a quick recap on the process.

The customizing process is fairly straightforward. After choosing your desired model and getting a brief by the trained personnel, you are given access to a computer, where you input all your colour and material selections, which provides an instant three-dimensional preview on the choices made. After that, an electronic measuring device reads your exact foot size and feeds it to the computer, which will even give you the choice of choosing separate sizes for each foot.

After you confirm your designs and sizing, an invoice is printed and you can come back for collection three weeks later. Here’s what we managed to cough up, which we’ll describe as a clean colourway that employs a combination of nubuck, patent and normal leather. Yes, we were feeling a little Cinco de Mayo, so sue us.

The mi adidas service is now available at adidas Performance, Lot 5.01, Level 5, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur 168, Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur; Tel +603 2141 8178.

These Nike Wildwood 90 Free Trails are part of a pack of kicks that uses a metallic snakeskin-like material. As if the fusion of several sneaker designs is not enough, the combination of crispy white and shiny silver makes the kicks appear more space race than all-terrain. One of those joints that you either love or hate, all we can say is - the future is now.

Available soon at selected Nike stockists across South East Asia.

Another crazy ass night, and we mean that in more ways than one, at TAG. Less talk, more pics, don’t forget there’s more after the jump!

Time for another episode of Prime Cuts, this time the location is Showroom, one of the longest-standing streetwear stores and biggest stockists of Stussy in Malaysia. We hit up Matthew whilst he was busy with his stock check duties and asked him to show us his four hot picks for July. Don’t sleep on the Stussy Laura tee, a Japan exclusive; also, check in-store for other rare Stussy pieces that the guys managed to pull in.

Showroom, 06-80 Level 6, Berjaya Times Square, 55100 Kuala Lumpur; Tel +603 2144 2292.

Stay tuned for more Prime Cuts from around the region.

Some may remember the adidas x Oki-Ni Rod Lavers from a few years back, that featured all-over fish skin uppers; this new Superstar Vintage sports wolf-fish skin on the stripes, heel and tongue tag, resulting in a texture that is seldom seen on sneakers. The premium quality kicks also feature high quality nubuck on the uppers and shelltoe, along with a set of leather laces, making them one of the more classy looking Superstars in quite a while. A tasty treat indeed.

Available now at the adidas Originals store @ Pavilion KL, as well as selected stockists around South East Asia.

New at Zone5 are these t-shirts and New Era caps from the Obey Summer ‘08 collection. Fans of the brand will be familiar with the style, whilst those yet to succumb to the Obey propaganda design philosophy have much to be tempted by.

Our favourites are the party with the posse tee and the sunglasses caps, which really bring out that fun-in-the-sun vibe. Alas, in South East Asia, we can be enjoying sunshine one minute, and the next be battling a torrential downpour. Either way, you do need tees, don’t you?

Zone5, 50-89 & 50-90, Level 5, Berjaya Times Square, Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur; Tel+603 2148 6333.

Last season, Nike was all over woven material, this time it seems like it’s all about gold accents. We recently showed you the white/gold Terminators, as well as the black/gold Air Max 1s, now here’s a trio of models with similar colour schemes for you to sink your teeth into.

Available soon at selected Nike Stockists across South East Asia.

On the back of last week’s packed Lapsap vs Shitdisco gig in Zouk KL’s mainroom, as well as a barrage of slamming sets at various venues around the city, it may have slipped a few minds that the Lapsap movement started off as a private bi-monthly party at Palate Palette.

For their 1st Anniversay Party, Lapsap will be going back to their roots by holding an invite-only party at Palate Palette on 23rd July, 2008. Not only will there be free booze, but there will be three pairs of Reeboks and three pairs of adidas kicks going to the best dressed peeps of the night. Also, early birds will get adidas door gifts, whilst everyone else will get the chance to grab some posters designed by Skuirtgun.

However, the bitch at the door is going to be extremely strict at who she lets in. Luckily, Streething has managed to secure a guestlist for 10 of our members, with the first to email their name to jules@streething.com by this Sunday getting in to this exclusive party. Please don’t mail us if you’re not 100% sure if you can make it.
