By combining art with fashion, Reebok has introduced the Affili’Art series, fusing artworks from the likes of John Maeda and Rolland Berry into Reebok Classics. For Fall/Winter ‘09, Reebok will be releasing the latest collection featuring works from African-American artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Using famous pieces like the “untitled(Crown)” and “Sugar Ray Robinson”, Reebok has transferred them onto some classic silhouettes like the Ex-O-Fit Plus Hi, Freestyles and the Classic Leather Lux. While each pair carries the unique characteristics of Basquiat’s painting, the whole pack comes in exclusive details like premium leather, satin linings, as well as Basquiat’s signature Crown and tag.

We have previously seen the kicks and tees under the “Full Metallic Jacket” pack by Stussy, Undefeated, and realmad Hectic, now here’s a look at the Be@rbrick in 400% and 100% versions. The three labels have never failed in executing some fresh designs on either the shoes, apparels or toys. Fans of the collab series will want to get their orders in now at the Black Chamber store.

We told you a few weeks back that Indonesian street artist Darbotz and Singaporean streetwear label Geseho were up to no good, and now the plans have been unveiled. Geseho will present “Monster In Disguise”, a sole art show by Darbotz that will see his signature Cumi design on a mix of mediums that include canvas, sculptures, skate decks and video. This will be the second art show held at the garage, the first being last year’s “Family” by The Killer Gerbil - see you all there!
“Monster In Disguise” will run from July 4th-5th, 2009, at the Geseho Guerilla Store, 1001 Bukit Merah Lane 3, No.47, Singapore 159718 (Opposite Queensway Shopping Centre); it will be open from 7pm-10pm on the 4th, and 1pm-5pm on the 5th.
Before Nike went the way of Air, their running kicks line were marketed around Bill Bowerman’s waffle sole, which provided runners with improved comfort, support and traction. The Waffle Racer is a classic from that particular era, and here we see it in two basic colourways complete with Nike’s “vintage” treatment. Even though they look like they’re from a car boot sale, the soft and worn-in uppers are undeniably comfy.

After much anticipated talk among toy collectors, the Surrender Be@rbrick has finally made its way to the racks in a set of 400% and 100%. As you already know, the vinyl toy is painted with a special and unique coating which allows it to reveal its “sexy” secret nature when heated. Sub Pop Records has recently embarked on a new collaboration with Nike SB. The legendary Seattle-based record label that was a key influence in the Grunge-era have used a similar design scheme found on their 3rd Sub Pop Singles Club “Gebel Barkal” album, from the band OM, and applied it onto a pair of Blazer Elites. Watch out for this Quickstrike release sometime in July this year.
