Behind The Scenes at Streething

 We were on set for the shooting of the NSW ad that you see on Streething. Just look at Gingerfish drop knowledge on how to tie shoelaces properly, he got the whole video, styling and art crew taking notes!

So what are we busy with? I really can’t answer for the rest of my team but I have been following “REDEEM” Team (no longer Dream Team) really closely to see whether they can prove to the world that USA still has the best basketball team. Last night, they beat Greece team (which upset them with their 3s and pick&roll in World Basketball Tourament) with their defense turned offense especially during 2nd quarter. And I had to miss the 2nd quarter because I was playing uncle school bus to send my team home -.-”"”

The most impressive player thus far has to be Lebron James, he is just doing everything - score, assist, rebound, steal, block and providing game highlights for Team USA. And Dwayne Wade is another player that many has forgotten how good of a player he is due to his absence for most part of NBA 2007-8. Currently Team USA is perfect a record of 3-0 in group B (along with Spain, Angola, China, Greece). The top 4 teams of each group will advance to the next round.

Next up on their schedule is the World Tournament Champion - Spain.

With almost ONE BILLION people watching the game, tournament favourite team USA made its debut by defeating host team China (led by Yao Ming) with the score 101-70. This is probably the single highest TV viewership game from two of the biggest nations in the world. Lebron, Dwayne and fellow Americans played a solid game while the Chinese did put on a good fight (especially Yao Ming) for the fist 2 quarters before the Americans pulled away in 3rd quarter.

Can the Americans win it all? It’s hard to tell especially with Spain and Argentina playing in the group B.

One of the highlights of adidas Agent Zero Asian Tour was Gilbert Arenas turning over of a basketball court to a Gawad Kalinga community as part of adidas’ mission to help promote sports among the youth. adidas has been supporting Gawad Kalinga communities, and this time, in a grander way, by bringing one of their celebrity players to actually inspire first-hand the young ones in the community to channel their energies to productive engagement such as basketball.

We were among the escorted cars with SWAT team around us on the way to the community.

There’s such extreme of wealth distribution in Philippine society, the gap between the poor and the rich is huge so they are either really really rich or poor. Gawad Kalinga is an organization which focus on helping the problems of poverty with its mission, programs, action plans, resources, projects and relief efforts. They tied in with adidas to provide facilities to the poorer villages like building basketball courts to promote their nation no.1 sports.

A walk down the colourful village…

Each cottage housed 5-6 children, and it was burning 37 degree celsius out. And yet we are complaining in our comfortable homes about not getting enough of the unnecessary.

The only decor they have on their wall and door are Vince Carter, Spiderman, adidas and NBA.

The kids love their new basketball court and they love Agent Zero.

One even got up the roof to catch a glimpse of Agent Zero.

Another long due behind the scenes entry, I was in Manila two weeks ago for adidas Gilbert Arenas Asian tour. A city I haven’t stepped foot since 23 years ago.

Gilbert Arenas aka Agent Zero who just renewed his contract with Washington Wizards was on his adidas Asian Tour in Manila. I had the opportunity to get an interview with him on his new kicks, Washington Wizards ‘08-’09 outlook and his blogging career. Stay tune for his interview on our mainpage.
