Sneaker Con SEA: A Look At The Best Limited Edt x SBTG Collaborations

The world of sneaker collaborations is a constantly evolving space, with new partnerships and releases appearing all the time. However, few collaborations have been as successful as that between Limited Edt and SBTG. Over the years, this partnership has produced some of the most sought-after sneaker releases on the market, each one a testament to the creative vision and technical skill of both brands.

The partnership between Limited Edt and SBTG began in 2017, with the release of the Limited Edt x SBTG x Reebok Instapump “Feline Fury”. This design featured bold pony hair and suede uppers, camouflage print and gold accents. This collaboration was inspired by the origins of the Singapura, which means “Lion City”, and both brands desire to create a design that was both fierce and playful.

Another notable collaboration between Limited Edt and SBTG was the Limited Edt x SBTG x Asics Gel Lyte III "Monsoon Patrol" in 2018. This design was inspired by the monsoon season in Southeast Asia and featured military hues of brown and khaki applied onto sturdy nylon and suede uppers. It also came with a lace shroud to protect from the inclement weather conditions in the region. For the follow up in 2021, the Limited Edt x SBTG x Asics Gel Lyte III "Monsoon Patrol II", the partners updated the Gel Lyte III model in a tonal grey colourway with hairy suede, reflective accents and a “Rebel Lace System”. A highly limited black version was also launch exclusively in Singapore, which featured premium full grain leathers on the uppers.

One of the most recent collaborations between Limited Edt and SBTG was the Limited Edt x SBTG x New Balance 327 "Urban Islander" in 2020. This design was inspired by the juxtaposition of tropical landscapes and concrete metropolis of sunny Singapore, and featured a unique asymmetrical upper design on both sides of the shoes, with SBTG's original camouflage pattern created for this collaboration. Accompanying the 327 sneaker was the SDL900, a multi-strap sandal featuring a BOA® closure system for quick fit adjustments and features matching camouflage patterns as the 327.

One of the key factors that has contributed to the success of the Limited Edt x SBTG collaborations is their ability to bring together two unique perspectives. Limited Edt's expertise in sneaker retail and curation is complemented by SBTG's creative flair, camouflage patterns, and attention to detail. The result is a series of designs that are both visually striking and technically impressive.

Overall, the collaboration history between Limited Edt and SBTG is a testament to the power of creative partnerships. Their ability to push the boundaries of sneaker design has resulted in some of the most sought-after releases on the market, each one a reflection of their unique vision and technical skill. As sneaker collaborations continue to evolve and expand, it will be exciting to see what Limited Edt and SBTG come up with next.
