Trying out the new Nothing Ear (open) sound tech 🎧🎶
We were a bit skeptical of the “Open” earphone concept , but these have really surprised us with their comfort and sound.
Firstly, for now the sound quality on open designs will never rival a set of high quality “closed” in-ear buds because of their nature, as they don’t sit inside your ear canals and block out e surrounding noise. They are designed to do the opposite of that so you can be aware of whats going on around you like when you are walking on a busy street, like .
However, the main benefit to us is that they feel extremely comfortable and are less fatiguing than our usual AirPods due to the way they hover over your ear canals instead of having to “plug” them up.
The tech loaded inside also results in minor sound leakage. If you have them blasting at full volume, someone pressed up right next to you will definitely get an earful of your guilty pleasures playlist, but for the most part you wont be disturbing anyone.
After a while, the lack of bass response normally afforded by “closed” in-ears doesn’t seem like that big of a deal unless you’re doing a direct A/B comparison between the two.
Also to add, the wide-yet-slim case holds a 30 hour charge and the Ear (open)s can last for 8 hours before needing a top up.
Instead of choosing between either Closed/Open wireless earbuds, we are keeping both in our daily rotation as they both have their uses.
Head over to Chamber for the limited online drop of Nothing Ear (open) at CHAMBER and limitededt.com, happening on 28 September, 10AM (GMT+8).
